Do you love minecraft? Do you love youth group? If so then why not join us every

Wednesday from 3:00pm - 5:30pm

on our dedicated minecraft server where we meet online to hangout in a scale model of St. John's church.

(Video and gallery at bottom of this page!)

Join each week to face challenges, explore faith through digital re-creatons of bible events, build your own bases with your freinds and take part in a working economy to buy, sell, trade, build tools, armour, and weapons and so much more!

In order to play on our server you will need access to the Java (PC) version of Minecraft and log in to our Discord voice chat server each session.

Each session is run by at least two of our safely recruited and DBS checked volunteers who will play alongside you and moderate the server and have access to chat logs so that any questions about sessions and what has been said can be reviewed by members of the safeguarding team upon request.

The server is hosted on an official server hosting website and has been programmed to prevent abusive language and will automaticaly ban players who attempt to demonstrate unsafe behaviour online as well as to provide online security against cyber crime through professional grade technology.

In addition we have made sure that contact details for child protection agencies are listed and visibile in-game should our young people feel the need to contact anyone if they feel unsafe or know anyone who feels unsafe.

The server operates on a 'whitelist' function which means that you need to submit a request to play by using the form below to provide us with express parental permission as well as your in-game username for Minecraft.

Once consent is provided your username will be entered into the whitelist by one of our game administrators which will allow you access to the server when the server is online.

As a way of communicating as we play and as a way of verifying who each person playing genuinely is we are using a private voice-chat programme called Discord for each session which players must join if they would like to play.

Download the Discord software:

Search for the button "Add a server"

Copy and paste the server name: SJBYouthCP

Wait for permission to be granted access to the room.

Launch Minecraft using your desktop icon and log in using your account

(Important, this server runs using version 15.2)

Select "multiplayer" from the main screen and then select "add server"

Copy and paste this address into the "server address" and click "done"

If you have been whitelisted and the server is online then you will be able to join the session
